The college is still a sapling amidst a forest, it is still very much growing and in the process of evolution, amidst the daunting environment in terms of education that Bangalore presents. And yet, it's slowly but surely beginning to leave a mark behind. Following in the success of IFIM B-School, IFIM college was set up around 2009 and has grown from strength to strength. Although limited in the number of courses that it has to offer currently, the institution has a dedicated team of faculty members catering to the constant demands of the ever changing and challenging educational forum.

Located in a cozy locale at the centre of Electronic City, the college is surrounded by campuses of IT giants such as HP and Infosys allowing for their veteran employees to come in to guide the students from time to time. Students also have had various opportunities to visit these locations for educational purposes. There are several eateries nearby including KFC and Baskin Robbins, which young students enjoy going to. Also, though the college is a bit far from the mainland of the city, it is connected to it by various active bus stops nearby along with a flyover access to the rest of the city, if one is in a hurry.

As for the facilities of the college, there are IT laboratories for students to work on including a lab set up and sponsored by IBM. There is also a financial studies lab, set up by Prabhudas Liladhar - specially for the students of the B-School. Free and considerably decent wifi is offered throughout the campus. There is a cafetaria within the college as well, active throughout the day, serving various kinds of meals and snacks. A well stocked and neatly updated library holds at the campus as well. And as for extracurricular activities, there is the amphitheatre, as well as an auditorium.

The institution also holds an area for a hostel. Most of the field activities such as sports festivals and so on are organised there. It has its own gym, swimming pool, sports ground and dormitory facilities as well. Busses to and fro the hostel grounds are also active every day.

However, the most noticeable things about the college are the events organised by the students. Be it blood donation for the Red Cross, or organising S.A.F.E. (a hotline for working women in distress around electronic city), or Kanyathon - a marathon organised to raise awareness about female foeticide, among several other socio-beneficial activities organised by the in-house NSS team - are some of the highlights. The college and B-school also host AURA and NAMAN, two inter-collegiate events completely planned and organised by the students.

To reward students for their performances, there are several scholarship programs active as well.

There are music, art, photography, creative writing clubs and so on coming up as well.

Overall my experience as a BCA student from 2013-16 here had been decent one. And I can only say that it'll get even better with time.

Recommendations to the institute

Further opening up the scope to going beyond more than just academics is highly recommended.
