Overview
Department of History, a constituent college of the flourished Sambalpur University was founded in 1969. The department was established by the Government of Orissa and is recognized by Universal Grants Commission (UGC). It has grown to be the leading Department of Humanities in the entire university. They have a state of the art infrastructure that includes museums, archives, palm-leaf manuscript libraries, archeological facilities and many more. It has grown to become a vital center of history research and education with the help of the dedicated and focused scholars, teachers and students.
