Overview

PSGR Krishnammal College for Women th was started on 28 June, 1963 by Shri. G.R. Govindarajulu and Smt. Chandrakanthi Govindarajulu. It was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Shri. Bhakthavatchalam. The college caters to the needs of women in higher education. Having started modestly with 35 students and 10 faculty members, it has now established itself as a pioneer institution offering traditional and modern courses with state-of-the-art technology, all the way from UG to Research level.

The UGC conferred Autonomous Status to the institution in the year 2004 and the college is Reaccredited with 'A' Grade (CGPA - 3.58) by NAAC (National Accreditation and Assessment rd Council) in 2014 (3 cycle). The institution is ISO 9001:2008 Certified and recognized by DSTFIST under the College as a whole scheme. The Botany department is a DST-FIST sponsored department under the Level 1 scheme

They provide safe and secure environment for girls. Most of the teachers are female.They focus more on extra-curricular activities and practical training. Even the labs lectures are more than the normal lectures so you can learn by doing.
