Overview
Thiru Kolanjiappar Government Arts College initially started functioning in the name of Lord Kolanjiappar from the year of 1966. The institute is permanently recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is affiliated to the Thiruvalluvar University, Vellore. Since its inception, the institute strives to cater the educational needs of the socially and economically backward students community. The institute offers 10 undergraduate and 7 postgraduate courses as well as research programs in Tamil literature such as B.A. Tamil Literature, M.Sc. Mathematics, etc. It is a co-educational institute offering standard education to their students. At present, about 3000 students are studying several programs and the institution also houses 100 teaching and non-teaching faculty members.
