Overview

As we know Sociology has emerged as one of the most scoring subject in Civil Services Examination. Every year you can find 2-3 students in the top 15 positions, and hundreds in final selection list. This year (2014 CSE) LOK BANDHU (7th, scored-306/500); last year (2013 CSE) JOHNY TOM VARGHESE (8th) and NEHA JAIN (12th) adorned the top slot with Sociology as their optional subject. Out of 51 optional subjects in mains, candidates of Sociology had preformed the best.

In fact, after Public Administration, the highest number of students appears in Civil Services main is from Sociology. This trend is moving more favourably towards Sociology due to bad performance of Pub. Adm. for last three successive years

Short syllabus, easy understandability, marks fetching subject for Civil Services main exam, these are some general trend that attracts thousands of students every year to choose Sociology as their optional subject.
