Overview
Department of Social Work, which was earlier known as Delhi School of Social Work (DSSW), is affiliated to University of Delhi (DU). The University of Delhi is one of the largest universities in India. At present, there are 16 faculties, 86 academic departments, 77 colleges and 5 other recognized institutes spread all over the city. Department of Social work is a post graduate institution which offers PhD program, M. Phil Program, post-graduate program in Social work. Frequent lectures are being organized for the holistic development of students. Events, Workshops and Seminars are integrated part of curriculum to provide students with the pragmatic approach of learning. The Department of Social Work has been ranked continuously as the second best school of social work in India, since 2011 by the Outlook MDRA Survey.

Course Eligibility
Candidate must have a minimum of 55% or equivalent marks in Master in Social Work and/or 50% marks in MPhil to be eligible to apply for Ph.D. Or Entrance test for admission to Ph.D. is held once in a year in the month of August for those candidates who do not have JRF or any other national fellowship or scholarship.
