Overview

Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya Institute for the Physically Handicapped, established in 1976, is an autonomous body which was renamed after Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya in the year 2002. The aim of the institute is to serve the physically disabled of all age groups. The institute offers Bachelor of Physical Therapy, Bachelor of Occupational Therapy and Bachelor of Prosthetics & Orthotics in this pursuit of alleviating the suffering of disabled people. The institute undertakes the training of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and other such professionals needed for rendering services to the disabled persons. The institute offers education, training, work-adjustment and such other rehabilitation services as the society may consider fit to orthopedic disabled persons with or without associated mental retardation.

The Institute aims to serve the physically disabled of all age groups. It has developed into a multi faculty institution, the Institute is providing comprehensive rehabilitation services to the persons with locomotor disabilities.
