School of Aviation Science & Technology (SAST), established in 1987, offers Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Course. SAST has distinction of training thousands of Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AMEs). Many top level AMEs in various Airlines including Foreign Airlines and Jet Airways are alumni of SAST. Aircraft Maintenance Engineering course of SAST has been approved by Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Government of India in both Mechanical and Avionics streams. Aircraft Maintenance Engineering is selected by young aspirants who want to work on aircraft. This is a professional course and can be joined after passing 12th class or equivalent qualification with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. The time span of this course is three years. Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) is a person duly licensed by Director General of Civil Aviation, Government Of India, who certifies the aircraft fit for flight after inspection, repair etc. and also before each flight.
