Overview

School of Foreign Languages (SOFL), established in 2007, is one of the 21 schools operating under the umbrella of IGNOU. The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), established in 1985, has been unceasingly strive to build a knowledgeable society by imparting inclusive education. The aim of the SOFL is to proffer cost-effective, innovative and flexible language programs to knowledge-seekers of all sections of the society. The programs are specially designed bearing in mind the specific needs of the learners. SOFL fosters the communication process in the country and across borders as well. These days the knowledge of foreign languages is acquiring a lot of significance which has resulted in the growing demand in the industry. The advantage of learning any foreign language is that they are applicable in multiple practical scenarios. SOFL works in collaboration with other universities to cater to the needs of learning foreign language of agricultural experts, scientists and trade specialists. Globalization has helped in business expansion resulting in the high demand for foreign language experts.
