Overview

Established in 1970-71, the school offers post graduation degrees in the field of Life Sciences. They keep the students busy throughout the curriculum by tests, seminars, assignments, mid and end-semester examinations. University-wide format of grading on a 10 point scale worked out on the basis of possible 9 points is used to check the progress of all the students.

During the curriculum, the candidates are required to do a thorough research of the subject. They have to make projects based on their research, which they will be required to defend during an oral presentation.

For the Ph.D. degree, the students are required to research and write a thesis. A minimum of two years are necessary to submit the thesis with the consent of a supervisor. The time allotted to submit it, is between 2-4 years but an additional year can be given only if the supervisor will be shown the research and he/she allows it. Almost the same procedure goes on for an M.Phil degree. The students need to keep their scores above 6.0 CGPA to be a part of the research and pursue the various degrees. There is some relaxation for the students belonging to the lower castes and physically challenged, for all the courses. The course structure is designed to make the students test their limits which encourage them to work with more determination. The faculty keeps a close eye on all the students and helps them in their research, whenever necessary. The institution has managed to promote research and development in a large scale which has ultimately helped the students and the people around the world.
