Needless to say, the infrastructure is excellent. Also the old world charm of the buildings and lawns make studying here a treat (especially in winters). I was fortunate enough to be part of an excellent department (Philosophy), that ultimately made good on what it promised - the undergraduate training I received made me a better, more active thinker, and changed me as a person for the better. Teachers regularly take classes and tutorials, and we are encouraged to apply our knowledge to issues prevalent within and outside the college environment. I also was able to meet people who have now become an integral part of my life. The kind of exposure that the Stephen's tag gets you also cannot be denied. I've emerged as a more confident, much more informed student.
Read full reviewA college which has been continuously ranked among the top colleges in the country for humanities as well as science by various surveys, St Stephen's truly holds the to its reputation of being the best. The teachers in the college are some of the most knowledgeable people of their fields and all of them are able to strike a chord with the students easily. The low number of students admitted per year in the colege ensures that the whole experience is more personal, and all the people in the institutions including the teachers, students and the support staff are all like a big family. Moreover, the environment of the college is simply perfect for an individual to grow and develop mentally and intellectually, with the process of learning being confined not just to the classrooms, but even taking place in cafes and playgrounds and corridors. The long line of erudite alumni who are at the top of their fields perhaps provide the best testimony to the status of the college. While it is true that infrastructure is not that well maintained, particularly in the the residence blocks, and the number of courses offered are not as wide as other DU colleges, adjusting with it is a sacrifice one can easily make for getting an opportunity to be a part of this institution.
Read full reviewSt. Stephen's college is among the premier colleges of the country. Not only it boasts of a great faculty, it is also, to quote Valson Thampu (ex-principal) of the college, 'unapologetically orthodox'. It maintains oxford-cambridge like aura and takes discipline very seriously.
The soceities of the college are a great platform for opportunities and they play a great role in shaping the personality of the students in the years to come.
The infrastructure is vast and green and it is the largest college in DU in terms of area. Since St. Stephen's has comparatively less strength than other colleges, the college is neat and well maintained.
Read full reviewI had a great faculty (mostly). The atmosphere is the college's best quality along with a fertile ground for academic growth and encouragement. The societies provide an excellent opportunity to delve into various activities and they are all open to everyone which sets them apart from other colleges. The college is teeming with plays, talks, interactive sessions, debates, workshops almost daily.
