Overview

The Institution of Permanent Way Engineers (India), established in 1967, is a technical body set up under the auspices of Railway Ministry for sharing experience and knowledge of various Railway Engineers connected with Permanent Way (Railway track), bridges and other structures. The Institute has been playing an imperative role in disseminating knowledge of permanent way, bridges and other structures among various Railway men. The aim of the Institute is to facilitate dissemination and sharing of technical knowledge regarding design, construction and maintenance of Permanent Way, bridges and other structures among the persons associated with it. The institute promotes and arranges seminars, lectures, discussions, exhibitions etc. for the information and advantage of the members of the Institute as well as publishes and circulates Technical information to facilitate interchange and sharing of ideas.
