Delhi University (DU) Correspondence Courses List 2017

The history of Delhi university dates back to the year 1922. It had a modest beginning with only 4 affiliated colleges, namely, St. Stephen’s College, Hindu College, Zakir Husain Delhi College, and Ramjas College.

However, today Delhi University (DU) has grown gigantically. It has over 70 colleges under its umbrella offering 240 courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

DU turned out to be one of the top-notch universities of the country. Not only national but international students also yearn to become a part of the Delhi university. Also,  it holds 74th rank in the list of top 200 universities of Asia.

The university has something for every student. It caters to the requirements of every student.

Whether you wish to pursue a correspondence course or a regular degree program, Delhi University has something for all.

However, in this article, I’ll discuss the correspondence courses offered by Delhi University.

The University has set up a separate body that offers correspondence courses to the students, viz. The School of Open Learning (SOL).

The School of Open Learning (SOL)  was formerly known as the School of Correspondence Courses and Continuing Education. It was established under Delhi University in the year 1962.

The school is the most preferred choice of students who wish to pursue correspondence education at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Every year, nearly 1.5 lakh students take admission in the SOL.

SOL is the pioneer in the field of distant education in India. At present, it offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of Humanities and Commerce.

In all, The School of Open Learning, Delhi University offers 10 courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

I want to apply for admission in BA (Hons) History. I get to know that from this year (2017) SOL is providing 9 more undergraduate courses including this. And, it also says that the SOL will declare the final approval from the “Head Board of Education” on date 31 july 2017 and same is the last date of admission without any late-fee (as according to SOL news). Beyond this date; late fees will be start to charge. Is this information correct; if yes, then why is it so… if we choose upon those courses that SOL shall add after 31st then we have to pay the LATE FEE… Why is it so?? Not Good at All.. Prospectus is already open to students. Students who find their best course can do their admission without waiting after 1 june 2017; but who likes the likely to be come Subjects; they need to wait till 31st and its necessary to pay late charges… This Is Not Done…!!! Plz Reply
