The Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi will conduct the All India Pre-Medical / Pre-Dental Entrance Test, for the academic session 2016-17. This entrance test will be conducted for the 15% merit positions in the Medical / Dental Colleges of India as specified in the directives of the Supreme Court and will be governed by the rules and regulations specified for the same by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India from time to time. However, its name has now been changed to NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test). The exam is supposed to be conducted in two phases. Candidates who appeared for NEET Phase-1 can appear for Phase-2 as well provided they will have to forgo all their claims on Phase-1 examination.
The question papers for the test shall be based on a common syllabus notified by the Medical Council of India.
Candidate should have completed the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of his / her admission to the 1st year MBBS / BDS Course and is an INDIAN NATIONAL.
The prescribed fee (Phase-1) for the general & OBC category candidates is Rs. 1400/- (RS. 2800/- with late fee). Whereas, SC / ST / PH category candidates are entitled to pay Rs. 750/- (Rs. 2150/- with late fee). For Phase -2 candidates need to apply online only and have to pay the application fee for NEET 2016 through Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking or Bank Challan.
The exam will consist of 180 objective type questions (four options with 1 correct option) from Physics, Chemistry & Biology (Botany & Zoology) for each phase. Besides, the duration for the phases will be 3 hours (From 10:00 am to 1:00 pm).
Both the exams i.e., Phase-1 and Phase-2 will be conducted in pen & paper mode at various designated exam centres across India for undergraduate medical and dental seats under 15% All India Quota. The question paper will be bilingual i.e. Hindi and English.
