Overview

Institute Of Mass Communication And Media Technology was primarily a part of the Kurukshetra University in Haryana organized as a wholly separate Journalism Department In 1993. Only one course was offered by this department originally and it was Masters of Arts in Mass Communication or MAMC, but in 2006, the department was upgraded to the institute of Mass Communication and Media Technology. The institute has introduced a vast range of courses in mass communication and media technology. Courses in animation, graphics and gaming are the only graduate courses available in north India. The institute has sufficient infrastructure to support the training activities for production courses too. Currently, the institute is coordinating 10 media courses with an intake of 265 students every year. The sole objective of the institute is to cater both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the fields of journalism (print, radio, television, internet and web); public relations; corporate communication; development communication and social marketing etc. Media courses offered by the institute also open great avenues for self-employment. The institute offers all that it takes to turn out students who can straightaway get into an organization and start performing from day one.
