Overview

Established in 2008, Teerthanker Mahaveer University was formed under the Act of the Government of Uttar Pradesh. The youth favours the University because of the advanced sciences and the shedload subjects in arts and languages. TMU is accredited by the UGC (University Grants Commission) and AICTE. Its situated barely 144km from New Delhi, on NH-24. TMU initiated several departments and colleges for Polytechnic, Dental, Para-Medical, Hospital, Medical, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Physical Education, Administration etc.

In the past couple of decades, with the growth of globalization, spread of technology and increasing demand for information, media has grown to play a crucial role in the lives of people. With the unprecedented growth of the media and entertainment industry, there has been a massive rise in the demand for courses pertaining to them. It is here that the role of the College of Journalism and Mass Communication becomes pivotal. The college was established in 2008, under the Teerthanker Mahaveer University. It was approved by AICTE, with its courses that train students to pursue a career in print and electronic media, advertising, public relations, event management and acquiring skills in television news, videography, video editing and other related areas. The college had been offering Bachelor, Master and Ph.D. programs in journalism and mass communication since the academic year 2011-12.
