Overview

Established in 2008, Teerthanker Mahaveer University was formed under the Act of the Government of Uttar Pradesh. The youth favours the University because of the advanced sciences and the shedload subjects in arts and languages. TMU is accredited by the UGC (University Grants Commission) and AICTE. Its situated barely 144km from New Delhi, on NH-24. TMU initiated several departments and colleges for Polytechnic, Dental, Para-Medical, Hospital, Medical, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Physical Education, Administration etc.

The College of Nursing was established in the year 2009 and it offers degree and diploma courses in nursing that train students to attend to the health care needs of the country. The courses are conducted by a full-time faculty. The curriculum spans over theoretical, practical and clinical exposure, which are also facilitated through an extensive network of healthcare centres and tie-ups with government agencies and community-based organisations. These programmes have been formulated in collaboration with experts of the field and are on par with national standards and official guidelines. The students are given active practical training at the 800-bed hospital of the university, along with sessions at allied urban and rural centres. As part of their training, the trainee nurses are given opportunities to attend OPD sessions and outreach programmes of the college of Medical, Dental and Paramedical Sciences.
