Overview

Established in 2008, Teerthanker Mahaveer University was formed under the Act of the Government of Uttar Pradesh. The youth favours the University because of the advanced sciences and the shedload subjects in arts and languages. TMU is accredited by the UGC (University Grants Commission) and AICTE. Its situated barely 144km from New Delhi, on NH-24. TMU initiated several departments and colleges for Polytechnic, Dental, Para-Medical, Hospital, Medical, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Physical Education, Administration etc.

Paramedical Sciences have grown to be an integral and crucial part of the healthcare system of the country. The college of Pharmaceutical Sciences aims to train the individuals to serve India pressing need for more radiographers, ECG technicians, OT technicians and audio motorists. The college primarily trains students in four disciplines. These include Forensic Science, where students are given sufficient exposure and practical experience to undertake investigation in criminal and civil suits. Their education consists of the collection and analysis of physical evidences from the crime scene, training for handling decomposed bodies, extracting finger prints and dealing with white colour crimes. In radiotherapy and imaging technology, students are trained to be proficient in interpreting and analysing radio image technologies such as X- Ray, color doppler, ultra sound, EEG, CT- Scan and MRI imaging. Medical Laboratory Technology covers the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases through clinical laboratory technologies. Finally, Optometry discipline trains ophthalmic technicians who can assess ocular motility disorders and errors of refraction.
