Overview
Department of Persian is a constituent of the University of Mumbai. It was founded in 1993 and is approved by UGC. From the cultural, social and historical point of view, the Persian language is vital to the country as many chapters of the history of India are written in Persian. The contribution of Persian language and literature towards the sublime and noble spirit of unity in diversity is extensive. The Department adopts several techniques to impart quality education such as innovative curriculum, demonstration experiments, evaluation methods, etc. The Department strives to bring the recent modern Persian literature in general under the focus of critical scrutiny and research. The Department offers programs such as M.A. Persian, Ph.D. Persian Language. It also conducts Certificate Course and Diploma Course in Persian.
