Overview
In the year 1971, the well-known University of Mumbai established its very own Department of Physics. It runs various programs exclusively at postgraduate and doctorate levels. All these courses are wholly approved by the University Grant Commission (UGC). The teaching faculty of the Department is extremely qualified and highly devoted to research in their respective areas of specialization. As a result, a value-based, interdisciplinary and research-oriented approach is used for teaching. The Department of Physics dwells on a beautiful campus located in Lokmanya Tilak Bhavan and in Dnyaneshwar Bhavan, Vidyanagari Campus, Mumbai. A subtle blend of theoretical knowledge and practical hands-on experience is given to the students, thereby ensuring their holistic growth in all aspects of education. The educational experience at the Department of Physics, University of Mumbai is truly enriching and unlike any other.
