Overview

Nalanda Dance Research Centre was founded in the year 1967. Affiliated to the University of Mumbai, the institution is recognized by the Government of India, Ministry of Science & Technology and accredited by NAAC. It was established by the eminent Dr. Kanak Rele. Nalanda Dance Research Centre proffers several undergraduate, postgraduate masters and postgraduate doctorate-level academic courses like Certificate Course in Folk Dances of Maharashtra and Gujrat, Ph. D. in Dance, Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dance), Master of Fine Arts (Movement Science), etc. The centre is the only institute in its field to be recognized as a Scientific and Industrial Research Centre. The primary objective of the centre is to impart traditional education, theoretical and practical, in classical Indian Dancing.
