Pillai College of Education & Research was built in the year 1990 under the Mahatma Education Society. It has been affiliated with the renowned University of Mumbai. It is a firm belief of the institute that teachers have a vital role to play in building a more progressive India. Therefore, it is essential to have well-groomed and quality

teachers who can further promote academic excellence and produce humane, self-reliant individuals, competent enough to meet the global challenges. A 2-year long B.Ed program is run by the institute in which the students are trained rigorously in all curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular aspects of education. The college is situated in the Chembur area of the Mumbai city, that is well connected to the other corners of the city through road. It is also re-accredited 'A' grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in the year 2011.
