Overview

Rachana Sansad Institute of Urban & Regional Planning was founded in 2008. The institute is recognized by COA and affiliated to the Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University. The institute is counted among the pioneer institutes in the field of Architecture and Design. The institute is an intellectual collaboration between the Mumbai Study Group and the Rachana Sansad to become the first institute offering education in the school of Urban Planning. The institute endeavours to provide to its students a deep understanding of the complexities of the environment, its built aspects and the correlation of the built environment to the prevailing socio-economic ethos. The course has been designed to train the students in the fields of sustainable urban and regional procedures, emphasizing on the environmental issues and the aspect of resource management. The institute aims to meet the lack of quality infrastructure and the uncontrolled increasing density in the developing countries by producing skilled, educated and trained professionals and resource optimizing experts.
