Chitkara School of Mass Communication, a constituent unit of Chitkara University was founded in 2007. It is recognised by UGC, INC, NCTE, PCI. The vision of the institute is to become one of the premier journalism schools in North India. The institute strives to impart value-based education to produce skilled and competent professionals and journalists. The institute offers courses such as B.A. Journalism, M.A. Journalism. The programs are built on strong theoretical foundations, which are supported by applied research into the dynamics of communication and creative industries. The curriculum structure for all the academic programs in Journalism has been inspired and accustomed from the UNESCO Model Curricula for Journalism Education. The mission is to instill in students the ability to write clearly and coherently using narrative, descriptive and analytical methods.
