• About Indira Gandhi National Open University

    The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), established in 1985, has been unceasingly strive to build a knowledgeable society by imparting inclusive education. It has tried to increase the Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) by offering high-quality teaching via the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode. The university serves the educational aspirations of over 3 million students in India and abroad with the help of 67 regional centers, 2,667 support centers and 29 overseas partner institutions. The university proffers about 228 certificate, diploma, degree and doctoral programs. IGNOU has a strength of nearly 810 faculty members and 574 academic staff at its headquarters and regional centers. There are 33,212 academic counsellors from traditional institutions of higher learning, professional organizations and industries.
