    The idea to baseline a Medical college in Lucknow was first given by the Maharaja of Vijanagaram in 1870 which later gave birth to King George's Medical University (formerly known as King George's Medical College, Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Medical University) in the year 1905.
