Overview

The Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam is among the nineteenth IIM in India. It is located in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India and was established by the Ministry of HRD and the Government of India. Popularly known as IIM Vizag, this institute functions under the great guidance and mentorship of the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, which is one of the leading IIM's in India as well as the Asia Pacific. It offers an extended two-year flagship programme named Post Graduate Program (PGP) in Management. The first batch of students was initiated from August 2015 at the Andhra Bank School of Business on Andhra University campus, which will further expand to its permanent campus at Gambheeram, Vizag in about three years time. The Union Human Resource Development Minister, Smriti Irani laid the foundation of its new campus on 7 January 2015. IIMV strives to empower the aspiring graduates to take up leadership roles. It lays great emphasis on preparing a course curriculum that will help to nurture an excellent group of the student into dynamic business leaders under the guidance of distinguished faculty from IIMB.
