Osmania University was founded in 1918 by Nawab Osman Ali Khan. It is approved by AIU, University Grants Commission (UGC) and is accredited with an 'A' grade by the NAAC. One of the fundamental goals of the Osmania University is to accomplish an intellectual synthesis of oriental and occidental learning that has been thought of and said, both in the East and in the West. The establishment of Osmania University represents a renaissance of the Indian educational system. The vision of the University is to create and disseminate knowledge through a harmonious blend of ancient and modern wisdom and to serve the society. The University has various Campus colleges such as University College of Law, University College of Law, several Constituent colleges like University College for Women, Nizam College and numerous Affiliated colleges such as Aurora Degree College, A.V. Degree College, etc. The mission is to serve the country by developing in the students heightened intellectual, cultural, noble, and humane sensitivities, to encourage a scientific temper and to promote professional and technological expertise. The objective is to execute excellence in teaching and research and to generate opportunities for the students to contribute to the national and regional development. The University has a vision of developing, enhancing, and improving the quality of human resources to face the challenges of local, national and global socio-economic changes.
